American off-road racing champion, Kurt Caselli, died Friday after sustaining injuries from a crash during the SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 race in Mexico.
Rumors flew that the crash happened due to a man-made booby trap, however that has been discredited by eyewitness accounts, according to ESPN.
Caselli was riding through a high-speed, sandy part of the track when
he lost control of his bike. The 30-year-old died during transportation
to a hospital in Ensenada.
