All That Jazz

Created in 2001 by a Smithsonian music curator, Jazz Appreciation Month celebrates the genius born out of the Roaring Twenties—from ragtime to smooth jazz, there is now something for everyone in the genre. Celebrate at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts April 3 with the dynamic Wynton Marsalis and members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. April 28, come out for the Center City Jazz Festival, an inaugural event spotlighting the area’s top up-and-coming artists at multiple venues including Time and Chris’ Jazz Café.
